On Saturday, Aug. 24, the Lake Central JV football team had its first game of the season against the Munster Mustangs. Despite the varsity team’s loss the night before, the JV team was able to come out on top 18-14.

“Varsity losing the night before gave us a drive to beat them. At the beginning of the game I did a lot to help motivate the offense and Logan Lambert (11) helped to motivate us as a team,” Quinn Paprocki (11) said.

Munster scored only four minutes into the first quarter. LC responded in the second quarter, with a Paprocki touchdown, and earned the extra point.

“After scoring, I felt like a stud and I think that made everyone click together,” Paprocki said.

Later in the second quarter, Lambert broke three attempted tackles, while returning a kickoff.

“I felt great about this and I think the hard work in practice helped out a lot,”Lambert said.

At the end of the the fourth quarter, Lambert deflected a Munster pass attempt, ending the game 18-14 in favor of Lake Central.

“After the game ended we all felt great. We came together when it really counted and the defense made a good stop when it mattered most,” Paprocki said.

Lake Central’s JV team will be playing at East Chicago Central High School at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31.
