Thespians gather for theater
September 9, 2013
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, the theater company held its first meeting of the year. Students from each grade level attended to learn about this year’s fall productions.
“We are doing two fall shows. One is going to be a show called ‘Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood’ and the other is going to be called ‘Drum Taps,’” Mr. Ray Palasz, English, said.
The callout meeting for “Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” is on Wednesday, Sept. 4 in the auditorium with Clark teacher Mrs. Nicole Raber. Many returning actors of Mrs. Raber’s shows are planning to participate. The second fall show “Drum Taps” is a competition show which the theater will perform in hopes of making it to the International Festival next summer.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and getting more involved in theater. I’ve basically been in theater my entire life, and I love everything about it,” Madison Breford (10) said.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the auditorium.
“I think theater is a place where you can totally be yourself. It’s an escape from reality. You can be a different person. I’ve been in theater for five years, and I’ve loved every minute of it,” Jackson DeLisle (10) said.
