Indians defeat Trojans 14-13

The Indians traveled to Chesterton Friday Oct. 4 to defeat the Trojans 14-13. The boys had a slow start with a halftime score of 13-0 Trojans.

“I feel like we came out in the first half not so focused, but we kept our faith and when the second half came we flipped the switch,” Kenneth Singleton (11) said.

In the second half the boys came out ready, and Brandon Scott (11) ran the ball in to put the Indians on the board. Ethan Darter (10) threw a 38-yard completion pass to John Gbur (12) to bring the ball to the 20-yard line in the fourth quarter. Darter completed another pass to Gbur to run it in for a touchdown.

“I trusted my teammates when we were losing. Everyone contributed and we never gave up. we made adjustments to make the plays when they needed to be made,” Gbur said.

LC’s kicker, Jillian Doan (11), completed the kick to put the Indians up 14-13. With four minutes left, the boys held the Trojans to take the win.
