If you are looking for a club that involves women who are interested in science and engineering, then Women in Science and Engineering [WISE] is just the club to look into. WISE is held every other Monday in C321.

The girls who attend this club do experiments, talk about different careers and talk about the controversy of more boys being in engineering than girls. WISE helps prepare students for college and look into different scholarships.

“I think this club looks good on college applications and I’ve learned a lot just from hearing about other peoples’ career goals,” Mary Beggs (12) said.

A lot of people haven’t heard of the club before, including Beggs, who was actually approached by [club sponsor] Mr. Kendal Smith, Science, about being in it.

“I actually didn’t know what it was when I first heard about it. It wasn’t until I looked it up and it sounded like something really good that we should have at Lake Central,” Beggs said.

The next meeting will be the Monday after spring break, March 31.
