As the sun was setting on April 8, the JV girls softball team had complete control over the game against Michigan City in a 13-0 victory.

Throughout the game, Jayna McDermott (10), Natalye Johnston (9), Alyssa Ranieri (9), Emily Thompson (9) and Emma Frye (10) scored points on Tuesday’s game.

“I think we did pretty good. We were hitting well off their pitcher. We went out and played good,” Frye said.

Their season has recently started this spring with a team of 16 freshmen and sophomores.

“I’m hoping we’ll be able to win the rest of the games this season. We have the ability to,” Haylee Sherlund (10) said.

The JV girls have high hopes for the remaining portion of the season, due to conditioning since September and practicing on non-game days.

“I hope that we [the team] all improve enough to eventually get up to varsity and that we win our games,” Frye said.
