The JV boys swim team took a tough loss against a major rival, Valparaiso High School, on Dec. 1. With an overall score of 109-76, the team still showed their many strengths during the meet.
“The biggest strength is our team. We are a team. Boys coming together [and] supporting themselves is more valuable than all the good swims you can put together,” Coach Dale Ramsy said.
Even though the team lost, some individuals were still able to prosper.
“I actually did very good during this meet. I beat my personal record, so I was happy with today,” Gary Michael (10) said.
Some minor hiccups in the JV boys performance during the meet cost them a loss against the Valparaiso Vikings.
“[The boys need to improve on] things like turns, starts and streamlining. It’s basically the little things,” Coach Ramsy said.
The next JV boys meet will take place at Highland High School against the Trojans on Thursday, Dec. 17 against Highland.
