A tied score of 7-7 at the end of the first half is an unusual thing for the Varsity Football team. Friday night’s game against LaPorte started very slowly, an unheard of thing for this year’s team. LaPorte had kept LC at bay, and the boys headed back to the locker room with a lone touchdown scored by Ike Spearman (12) in the second quarter.
However, by the time the second half came around, they had regained their footing and scored 17 points that went unrequited, and the tables had turned. The defense once again became a brick wall across the field and LaPorte had to settle with their one touchdown.
The offense heated up in the fourth quarter and picked up a touchdown when Dylan Morang (12) intercepted a pass from LaPorte and ran 39 yards for a touchdown. With only 1:04 left in the game, Tyler Szczecina (12) gave the Slicers one last taste of LC and scored to finish the game 24-7.
