Two minutes determined the outcome of the Varsity Girls Soccer game Tuesday night. The Lake Central girls lost to Valparaiso 1-2 on their home field. The girls were well matched, and neither team scored in the first half. Shortly into the second half, Valparaiso scored a goal. Lake Central kept fighting through the half. With three minutes left Lauren Doreski (11) scored a goal for LC.
“I got really excited. I thought the girl was over the line. A moment passed then I took the ball and scored,” Doreski said.
Doreski tied the game and led them into overtime. Two minutes into overtime, Valparaiso scored again. The Indians worked to score again, but they were unsuccessful.
“We played hard. We should have played more as a team, but we are working on that,” Jane Gates (12) said.
The ladies are hoping to come back from this defeat. They are working on their teamwork and preparing for Sectionals.
