Varsity boys cross country headed to Lowell High School for the Bob Thomas Invitational this past Saturday, Sept. 13.
“[The season] has been pretty good. We’ve been pretty close to Munster, being one of the best in the region,” Casey Garvey (11) said.
Garvey finished 16th overall, with Tyler Kramer-Stephens (11) in 12th, Zach Hupp (11) in 8th, and Kameron Konapasek (11) in 4th.
“I started too slow, I was in the back. I had to work my way up,” Garvey said.
While Garvey felt he could have improved on some aspects, freshman Joey Copeland (9) was pleased with his performance.
“I did pretty good. I got sixth on the team, and I was a freshman running varsity,” Copeland said.
Copeland is one of only two freshmen on the varsity team.
“I got pretty nervous before the race, I could probably pick myself up a lot more,” Copeland said.
The boys finished 3rd overall, and are ready to dominate at New Prairie High School this Saturday, September 20th.
