The boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Culver Academy to compete in the 33rd Annual Culver Academies Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The girls team placed 10th out of 21 teams, and the boys team placed 9th out of 20 teams.
“I think I did good [individually] and we did good as a team, beating everyone we were supposed to beat. I got 31st ,” Kameron Konopasek (11) said.
Zachary Hupp (11) came in first for the boys team in 29th place, and Jennifer Crague (10) came in first for the girls team in 44th place.
The Lake Central teams usually go to this invite every year, and they hold a picnic for the runners and their families.
“Culver is one of the best meets of the season because all of our families get together and have a cookout after we race, and it’s just a fun time. I haven’t really been healthy though, so I didn’t perform at my top for this meet,” Megan Zajac (12) said.
Both teams will compete at DAC at LaPorte on Saturday, Oct. 5.
