Olympiads soar to second place

Over spring break, the Lake Central Science Olympiad team placed 11th place out of 22 events during Nationals. They placed sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th in six of the events there.

Surya Vezhavendan (12) and Tiffany Tao (12) placed first place in the event, Chemistry Lab.  Vezhavendan also placed first in Geologic Mapping along with his partner, Rachel Kozel (10).

Right behind second place was Jacob Jakubowicz (12) and Jay Chopra (11) on Disease Detectives.  Jakubowicz also took second place along side Faiq Quadeer (12) for Dynamic Planet.

In Astronomy, Michael Shanks (10) and Alan Wright soared up to third place.  Sliding into third place for Cellular Biology was Jakubowicz and Sarthak Aggarwal (11).
