Future Medical Professionals hosted a ping-pong tournament as a fundraiser for Rett Syndrome Friday, April 24, and it went better than expected.
“Rett’s Syndrome is like ALS, so it is a neurodegenerative disorder that slowly makes you lose muscle control and ability to talk. It mostly affects women and children,” Niji Shah (11) said.
Mr. William Keep, Business, and Future Medical Professionals had a great turnout for the participants, spectators and volunteers.
“I think we had a fantastic turnout. We got twice as many people as we thought we would. Everybody seemed to be having a great time, and we raised money for a good cause,” Mr. Keep said.
Daniel Zahorsky (11) ended up winning the singles ping-pong tournament, and the winners of the doubles were not posted.
