The JV girls soccer team took on Valparaiso High School on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in an intense and exciting game. The girls fought hard but took a tough defeat, losing 1-0.
“I thought we did alright. Valpo was quick, and a little bit bigger than us. We got out worked at some points, but towards the end of the game we got a lot of opportunities,” Coach Vince Pucci said.
Instead of holding this loss against themselves, players are using this defeat as motivation for other games in the season.
“It’s a tough loss but we can always take some positives out of it. We can improve on fighting for those 50/50 balls. We lost a lot of those in the middle of the field,” Coach Pucci said.
Cara Scott (11) was one of the key players of the game, playing as a defender for the Lady Indians. Scott and the other defenders were able to hold the Vikings to just one point.
“We need to improve our shooting. We need to take more shots and keep them on frame,” Scott said.
