On Tuesday, Sept. 29 the JV girls soccer team crushed Merrillville with a score of 7-0. Throughout the season, the Lady Indians stayed on top of their game and finished it off with high spirits.
“We had good ball control and worked together as a team really well. Since it was our last game [of the season] we were really motivated, and [despite] the pressure on the field, I thought we did really good,” Ashley Scanlon (11) said.
Even though it was the last game, it was the first time that some team members scored a goal.
“We had some girls score who haven’t scored the entire season, so that was a highlight [of the game]. It was exciting to watch,” Scanlon said.
The game left the team with an exceptional record of nine and three losses for the year.
“Overall, [the girls] did really well [this season]. They moved the ball and kept their pace up on the turf field. I thought they did an especially good job today and finished the year strong,” Asst. Coach Vince Pucci said.
