On Nov. 5, the varsity girls basketball team scrimmaged against the Andrean 59ers, showcasing their talents for the first time this season. Under the supervision of Coach Marc Urban, Physical Education, the girls took the floor for the first time in the new gym.
“We are good with communication. All of us hang out outside of basketball, so we’re like a family,” Alyssa Todd (12) said.
After last year’s Sectional win the team lost six seniors. Due to this loss, the team has been feeling a lot of pressure going into this season.
“We can win Sectionals, but people doubt us. I think we can do it,” Todd said.
The Lady Indians enter this year with high expectations and motivation to win another Sectional title.
‘We’re expected to be the underdogs, and just to prove to everyone that even though we lost six seniors we can still excel by ourselves,” Todd said.
