The boys varsity basketball team suffered a loss to Warsaw on Friday, Dec. 11. The Warsaw Tigers defeated the Indians with a final score of 42-38.
“We played pretty well, but they were good too,” Joseph Graziano (11) said.
The Indians and the Tigers were neck to neck the majority of the game. Warsaw led Lake Central by one point in the first and second quarters. By the third quarter, Lake Central was in the lead with a score of 26-25.
“We took better shots this game,” Graziano said. “There are still a few things we can work on.”
At the end of the fourth period, the two teams were tied with a score of 34-34. Both teams fought hard during overtime, but the Tigers came out victorious.
“[We plan to bounce back by] playing Morton Saturday,” Graziano said. “It’s a winnable game so we’re going to try to rebound and win that game.”
The next varsity basketball game is on Saturday, Dec. 19 against Hammond Morton.
