The Girls Varsity Basketball team left in dismay Friday, November 18, after being defeated again by Michigan City. Heading into the game, the Girls knew Michigan City would be hard to beat.

“We felt confident and prepared,” Elizabeth Seymour (10) said.

The Girls had a strong start to the first quarter, but things started to fall from there.

“I feel I played pretty well, but I was upset with the two fouls I got within the first few minutes,” Jessica Bell (11) said.

The game was an upset for many, but the team knows how to improve.

“We could have executed our plays better and [could have] worked on transition defense,” Seymour said.

By the fourth quarter, the team was down by 25, but quickly regained 14 points.

“I was happy that we brought it back. It would have been bad to lose by 20,” Bell said.

The team has had a difficult season so far with some of the best schools such as Penn, Griffith and Hamilton.

“We’ve had a tough schedule, but hopefully it’ll get better,” Bell said
