Donating to Children’s Smiles

The annual Toy Drive will start up in December, where students can bring in toys that will be donated to other children. The Toy Drive will go on until Christmas Break starts and will get collected during second period the last day before break.

“I think people should bring in toys because it helps a child get something on Christmas that they can’t have,” Brianna Melendez (12) said.

Melendez believes that students should consider that the kids who receive the toys would really enjoy getting the toys, and it would really make a difference, even if students decide to donate money instead of a toy.

“If they wanted, they could donate money, and I’m sure one of the student council members could get a toy that the student isn’t sure about buying to convince them to [donate] because mostly every student in here gets a gift for Christmas. These kids don’t, so it’s a good thing to do,” Melendez said.
