JV Bowlers Prove Themselves at Tournament

LC JV bowlers represented the school’s bowling program by taking five of the top eight positions at their last JV Tournament on Nov. 19.

On the Boys side, Jeffrey Dorsch (9) qualified for the Stepladder Finals with a 375 series and faced off against teammate Daniel Revoir (9), who qualified with a 376. Dorsch beat Revoir to give him fourth place.

“I thought I could have done better, but at least I lost to a teammate,” Revoir said.

Dorsch went on to face another teammate, the number two qualifier Adam Cobban (9). Dorsch defeated Cobban and landed him third place. After the final game, Dorsch officially ended up in second, with teammates Cobban and Revoir in third and fourth, respectively.

On the Girls side, the final games also came down to teammates. LeAnn Stutler (9) qualified fourth, but went on to win her Stepladder match to get third place.

“I feel like I did better than I have been doing,” Stutler said. “For being a freshman and this being the first JV tournament of the year, I’m satisfied.”

After qualifying with a 367 series, Laura LeVander (9) took first place for the Girls.

“I was surprised to some extent. I really thought I was going to lose because the girl I had to beat [to win the tournament] had beaten LeAnn [Stutler], who’s a very good bowler, ” LeVander said.

The JV bowlers from both teams will compete again at Stardust II in Merrillville this Saturday, Dec. 3.
