A Best Buddies meeting took place on April 4. Members partook in activities like bracelet making, karaoke and playing with a parachute.
“We broke off into groups and we did activities. I made a friendship bracelet. It was fun [to make],” Jane Wright (9) said.
At the meeting, the students also received information about the upcoming Best Buddies Walk on May 14 at Crown Point High School.
“The walk brings together all of the Lake County schools. All their chapter members come together and we walk and raise money,” Hailey Rugis (12) said.

Also coming up is the Best Buddies Prom.
“It’s our springtime formal dance and students can come to it in addition to Prom. We feed [the students] dinner and they hang out. We get a DJ and sometimes a photographer. It’s a really nice end of the year event,” Mrs. Kathryn Clark, English, said.
The dance will take place on May 13 and tickets are thirteen dollars.
