Glenn Robinson III (12) achieved a major feat in LC basketball history against the LaPorte Slicers on Dec. 29- Robinson hit his 1000th point in his high school career.

With Michigan City next on the Indians’ schedule, Robinson only needed 17 more points to break the all-time scoring record at LC held by Jan Smoljan, set in 1976. With the Indians facing a tough competitor in the DAC, Robinson had one thing on his mind.

“I’ve always just been focused on winning.” Robinson said.

Robinson ended the game leading all scorers with 22 points in an effort defeat the Wolves but came up short. He did, however, go down as the Indians’ all-time scoring leader that night.

“It was a great accomplishment. It’s a blessing, but it won’t mean much to me until after the season. My goal now is to win a state championship with my team,” Robinson said.

Robinson extends his record further and further with each game, and with eight games left in the regular season, it looks as if he will set the bar high for the next student who looks to top his record as he averages 22.07 points per game, according to www.nwitimes.com.

“I would be happy to see another kid break my record in the near future to keep the program going,” Robinson said.

As of now, Robinson looks to keep the program going deep into the playoffs this year; he looks to go “all the way.”

“People underestimate us,” Robinson said.
