This past Saturday, the Varsity Centralettes competed at the Munster Dance Invitational; they were awarded first place in both Elite Jazz and Elite Hip-hop.
“It wasn’t our best performance, but we are looking at it to hopefully learn a lesson and never have [a bad performance] happen again,’’ Allie Tribble (12) said.
The Varsity Centralettes have very high expectations to live up to. Not only does varsity have to be better than the teams they are competing against, they have to be better than the previous Centralette team.
“[We need to work on] not letting the fact that we are a young team bring us down; there are a lot of inexperienced members this year. [We have to] try to pass down the team in a better condition than it was given to us,” Madeleine Hiemstra (12) said.
The Varsity Centralettes are practicing every day to win their 18th consecutive State Championship and to hopefully win their eigth National Championship. The team also hopes to win its first National Hip-hop Championship.
