N-Teens is a club that revolves around the community. The members of this club volunteer not only at Lake Central, but at a variety of other schools, organizations and businesses. This year, Mrs. Kelsey Becich, English, is hoping to make positive changes within the club.
“We are trying to make [N-Teens] more student-driven and student-focused, so our officers have more responsibility. We are also trying to maintain membership throughout the year,” Mrs. Becich said.
At the meeting on Wednesday Oct. 12, the members discussed volunteer opportunities for upcoming events, permission slips and field trips. The upcoming holidays offer many volunteer opportunities.
“We talked about Halloween activities that we can start [working] on. There are some fun activities that we can do with children at some of the middle and elementary schools,” Morgan Markulin (11) said.
N-Teen’s biggest responsibility is planning winter formal, and planning starts in a week. On Thursday, Oct., 20, a meeting will be held after school to begin planning.
“I really like planning formal because it’s really fun to see, especially at the end. You get to see all of your hard work being shown [off]” said Markulin (11).
