Sectionals for the LC Wrestling team took place on Saturday, Jan. 29. A total of 14 wrestlers placed in the top four and will move on to Regionals.

The LC team scored 293 points and stole the win from Munster, who has won Sectionals the last four years.  The team will have every weight class represented at Regionals.

“I’m happy that we won the tournament.  The whole team did a good job, and we’re all excited for Regionals,” Gelen Robinson (10) said.

Regionals for the LC wrestlers take place on Saturday, Feb 4.  The following wrestlers will be taking part in this event:  Brandon Truver (9), Joshua Vandas (10), Matthew Lechowicz (11), Kyle Ayersman (12), Jordan Goodwin (10), Michael Escobedo (12), Jacob Sebahar (10), Kody Christenson (9), Brandon Manchak (10), Jeffrey Brassea (10), Alex Tucker (11), Isaac Popovich (11), Gelen Robinson (10) and Robert Ross (12).
 
“I’m excited to go to Regionals because it’s my first year of Varsity Wrestling.  I’m not really that nervous, though, because I’m just glad I get to go,” Alex Tucker (11) said.
