Many seniors look forward to the multitude of events that accompany the conclusion of their high school experience. Senior Banquet is highly anticipated by seniors because it gives students a chance to dress up in costumes of their choice in the spring.

Senior Banquet will be held on May 18 at Avalon Manor located in Merrillville off of U.S. Route 30. The theme of the banquet will be related to the fact that the Class of 2012 started school at the introduction of the new millennium. The Senior Class Cabinet congregated to decide on a general direction the theme should take.

“We decided to go with something that relates more to our class rather than a generic childhood theme. Our class started school at the beginning of the millennium,” Class President Rachel Giese (12) said.

The Class Cabinet will be distributing sheets of paper with respective senior award categories to all English classes. Every senior will be asked to write the name of whom they think deserves each award. The nominations will then be tallied by the Senior Class Cabinet, and the awards will be given out during Senior Banquet. No one will leave empty-handed because all attendees will receive a party favor.
