The varsity boys basketball team showed great chemistry as they played against Valparaiso on Friday, Jan. 19. The boys stayed tied until Valparaiso beat them in overtime with a final score of 62-69.
“I thought we would play well against Valparaiso because they were one of our tougher opponents and it would’ve been a big win for us. We played harder then we ever have, making strides on defense and offense,” Justin Graciano (12) said.
Even though they were defeated by Valpo, the boys continue to work together to win upcoming games.
“I loved how we never back down and always fought our way back into the game. I think we all played good together and you can finally see we are meshing with each other,” Conner Tomasic (12) said.
The boys were tied in fourth quarter with a score of 56-56. Valparaiso took the lead in overtime with a final score of 62-69.
“I think I did good posting up on the player guarding me because he was little and defense tried to disrupt the offense. We really played with confidence and managed the time well,” Derek Hobbs (10) said.
Varsity boys play Friday, Jan. 26 against Chesterton.
“I think the rest of the season is going to go really well and we have a good chance in winning our sectional,” Tomasic said.
