Seniors and members of Dollars For Scholars learned about possible scholarship opportunities for their future on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Many seniors gathered in room E209 to apply for scholarships. Non-members were also allowed to apply.
“Any senior can apply for them, not just members of Dollars for Scholars. Applications are completely online, so they can be filled out from home,” Miss Michelle Deming, Mathematics, said.
Dollars for Scholars is an organization that expands educational opportunities for all students eligible through scholarships and academic support. Students learn about different scholarship programs they’re able to participate in.
“I’m not enrolled in the club but it’s open to all seniors who are looking for scholarship opportunities for college,” Bianca Matchain (12) said.
The club sponsor, Miss Michelle Deming, Mathematics, guided students to register for scholarships.
“Any senior can apply for them, not just members of Dollars for Scholars. Applications are completely online, so they can be filled out from home. The last day to submit an application is February 28th. The goal of Dollars for Scholars is to provide volunteer opportunities for students throughout their four years of high school to give back to the community,” Deming said.
If you are not a member of Dollars for Scholars, you can join anytime. They will be having a meeting for all members in the next few weeks.
