The boys tennis teams competed against LaPorte on Thursday, Sept. 5, at home. JV won their matches after a lot of hard work with a score of 8-0.

“I thought it went pretty good. Everyone won for the most part. We’re playing harder during practices and doing more drills,” Ayan Mohammed (11) said.

Even with an undefeated match, the team is always looking for skills to improve on.

“Singles isn’t horrible, but we just need to work on the doubles combinations a bit more. [We aren’t playing] as good as past seasons, but I think we’re just trying to get situated in places  and figure it out,” William George (12) said.

While the tennis team tries to win as a team, they also focus a lot on individuals putting in the work to improve.

“[I am] practicing getting up to the net. I need to work on consistency. [I need to] hit angles more consistently,” Collin Pinskey (10) said.

The team looks forward to playing hard, but they enjoy themselves no matter what the outcome of the matches end up being.

“The best part is probably the friends you make and the companionship,” Mohammed said.
