“The positive message that I want to bring is our mission, which is that inclusion lives here and that means inclusion everywhere in our school. I want to see everyone get along with everybody,” Haberling said.

   These students love to bring the positive message by doing West Lake Basketball, and trying their best on the court and on the field. They have such a great feeling when they do their best, it makes them so happy when they win a game.  

   “They’re always excited about West Lake Basketball and West Lake Track, and they’re always excited about coming to these events,” Haberling said.

   Best Buddies is all about having inclusion, and bringing a lot of positivity so that they enjoy having interactions with other students. 

   “I have been peer mentoring for three years, I love seeing these kids grow to learn what they want to be and what they want to do. It really inspires other people to make sure that they have the tools that they can use to make sure [they] become what they want to be,” Haberling said.
