Getting ready for Veteran’s Day

All club members gather in the classroom at the end of the day on Fridays for their meeting. The students waited for Mr. Clark to begin the meeting.

The members of History club worked hard Friday, Oct. 11, preparing for the upcoming Veterans Day assembly. The members got together and told stories, played games and planned for Veterans Day.

“I believe Veterans should be honored and deserve way more appreciation. History club isn’t all about Veterans Day though. We have fun meetings with activities, games, videos and more,” Mya Bell (12) said.

History club helps with the majority of the Veterans Day program. They help students bring family members who have served, decorate and speak for the event.

“PTE presenters tell students to bring veterans and about an essay competition and all that john, but mostly we figure out scheduling, the speaker, and set up the gym for everything and make sure the veterans get there,”Alex Yates (11) said.

History club is great for anyone interested in learning more about our Veterans, and history in general.

“Being apart of history club has helped me understand Veterans Day by helping me understand the veterans themselves, what they went through, and why they deserve our respect.” David Salinas (11)

Their next meeting is Oct. 23 and every following Friday. It’s not too late to join History club.

“It’s never too late to join History club. If anyone is interested contact myself, Mr. Clark or any of the other officers. Or just come to the next meeting, which are every Friday,” Bell said.
