The Varsity Boys Tennis team had their first match at home on Wednesday against Highland. Highland may not be one of the biggest rivals, but the team still had to prepare.
“I prepared for the match by eating lots of food, like Goldfish and granola bars. I also had a good practice before the game and worked on my serves a lot,” Peter Boyd (12) said.
Players Peter Boyd and his partner Steven Sobek’s (11) final scores were 6-0 and 6-2 during their double, and Luke Oboy recieved scores of 6-0 and 6-3 in his individual. Even though the boys swept Highland, there is always room for improvement.
“To improve, I want to get better at my serves, especially placing them,” Luke Oboy (11) said.
The team’s next match is against Merrillville on August 28 at LC .
