Boys bowling takes on sectionals

On Saturday, Jan. 11, the boys Varsity bowling team took on sectionals. They bowled twelve bakers games and placed third overall. The top two teams advance to regionals.

“It’s sad ending where we did. We had the potential to go all the way this year and our seniors leaving are the team leaders. The team will have some big shoes to fill and ending it where we did made us realize [that],” Tyler Dailey (11) said.

The team has been practicing all season for matches like this. It is not only the physical technique, but the mental attitude that drives the team to success.

“Confidence is the big thing and keeping my game at a high level,” Tim Chimino (9) said.

Although the team didn’t make regionals, the team created a strong bond over the season according to Alex Johnson (9). This relationship encourages the bowlers to maintain a positive attitude.

“It’s super easy to have a good attitude when we’re all having a good time and laughing and that makes it really difficult to get upset at anything,” Alex Johnson (9) said.

The bowlers must stay positive for matches. Dailey explained how as long as the team gave their all they stayed positive.

“We gave it our all and that’s all we could have done. All we can do is focus on becoming better and improving next season,” Dailey said.
