New year’s resolutions
January 8, 2020
As the new year rolls around, new resolutions are made by people from all over the world. From eating healthier to spending less money, resolutions range all over the place. They can help to give people some motivation to obtain their goals. It gives an extra push to make this year the best year. No matter what resolutions are made, they are all made with the intention of improving one’s lifestyle.
Promising to do something different or better can help a lot of people feel better about themselves. If someone is feeling overweight and they make a resolution to lose weight, it can make them feel better about how they look. Although it seems like it may be easy, keeping a resolution is one of the most difficult things to do. Twelve months is a long time to keep doing the same thing over and over again. Lots of people are able to keep their resolution for January, but once February hits it’s a whole different story.
I, for one, make a New Year’s resolution every year. While most of them don’t last, I always try my best to keep them. When I was younger, my New Year’s resolutions used to be being nicer to my brother, which does not always work when his New Year’s resolution was to make me as miserable as possible. Now, my resolutions consist of things like doing better in school, which definitely seem more possible.
Regardless of what your resolution is, they can be very hard to keep even if you have the strongest willpower. Although they may seem pointless because people give up on them, resolutions can be the start of a big change and should always be tried to obtain a better version of yourself.
