Pizza for a Cause

Best Buddies had a fundraiser on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The fundraiser took place at Mod Pizza in Highland.

“Fundraisers make the students feel like they have a place to hangout with people that they normally see just in school,” Marissa Haberling (9) said.

Friends and families gathered to support Best Buddies and enjoyed pizza together. The fundraiser gave everyone something fun to do even when the weather was harsh.

“Even though the weather was not the best to drive to Highland, I was glad to see that the meeting still had a good turn out and we were able to raise money for an important club,” Taylor Zezovski (11) said.

Officers of the club were grateful that Mod Pizza allowed them to have their fundraiser. Members of the club think it is important to be able to have meetings like this to get information out about the club and give peers and buddies an opportunity to see their peers outside of the classroom setting.

“Fundraisers like this help the club because it gives the kids a chance to see their peer outside of the school environment while also raising money,” Haberling said.
