Sister, Sister, the 90’s black family sitcom, was released on Netflix on Sept. 1. Within days, it was number three on the Top 10 trending list.

The show is about twins, Tia (Tia Mowry-Hardrict) and Tamera (Tamera Mowry-Houseley), who were separated at birth, with each being adopted by a different parent. One day, the teens have a chance encounter while shopping at a clothing store in the mall. After the families meet, Tamera’s adoptive father, Ray, reluctantly allows Tia and her mother, Lisa, to move into his home so the girls can be together. But just because they’re twins doesn’t mean Tia and Tamera are identical in any way other than looks – Tia is intelligent and ambitious from inner-city Detroit while Tamera is the boy-crazy, party-loving twin from the suburbs. They go through their high school and college years together all while trying to make up for the years they lost.

Not only do Tia and Tamera have to adapt to living with one another but so do Ray and Lisa, with Ray being an uptight, opera-loving limo service company owner and Lisa being a quick witted, laidback fashion designer. Their polar opposite personalities call for some very memorable moments on the show.

This 90’s program won many awards including the NAACP for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Tia and Tamera) and a Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Television Actress.

I strongly recommend this show if you are in need of a good laugh! Now streaming on Netflix.
