Forever ‘Evermore’
January 29, 2021
Taylor Swift started her music career in 2006 when she was 17 years old; since then she has released 10 albums and 38 singles, and has won multiple Grammys and music awards in her time as an artist, her newest two albums being ‘Evermore’ and the deluxe version of it. Some may argue that Swift’s career was built on bitter breakup songs and cheesy love songs, others would argue that Taylor Swift has many good songs. No matter how you feel about her, we can all admit that she has had a very successful career for only being 31.
Though many of her songs have been inspired by her different breakups over the years—breakups with famous people like Harry Styles or Jake Gyllenhall—she’s produced classic songs that most people know simply by the tune of the beginning. Iconic songs like “Love Story” and “You belong with me” are some of her two most-played songs when it comes to her older albums. As for her newest albums though, some may say they don’t add up to the original albums; there is no doubt that Swift will continue her growing career and continue to make iconic middle school dance songs.
Swift’s newest album, ‘Evermore,’ is considered a sequel to the album ‘Folklore,’ which came out in 2020. Her fan’s had eagerly wanted for her to release music after ‘Folklore,’ seeing as the last time she produced music before ‘Folklore’ was in 2019. Swift did not disappoint many of her diehard fans with ‘Evermore.’ The original ‘Evermore’ soundtrack had 15 songs on it; this new deluxe edition adds two new songs, those two songs being “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go,” bringing the final song count on this album to 17.
These two songs are a wonderful closing to this album. This album could be described as one of her more somber albums, compared to breakups of her old albums and some songs on the ‘Evermore’ album about letting go and others about hiding a body after a muder, that song being “No body, no crime.” This new album will definitely go down in the top of the album charts when they rank them up this year, seeing as it has already been in the top numbers since the beginning of the year when it first came out.
