Nearly 10 months after the first part, the first episode of “Attack on Titan” Season Four Part Two released on Jan. 9, 2022. Fans across the world were in great anticipation for the final part of the critically acclaimed anime. After its animated release in 2013, the fanbase surrounding the series has only continued to grow, amassing to over 1.5 million views across various streaming platforms. Many fans have taken to different social media platforms to express their opinions on the series. On Twitter, alone, fans created the trending hashtag, #AttackonTitanFinalSeason to celebrate the season, as well as thank the creator, Hajime Isayama.

After the cliffhanger of the first part, many fans were worried about potential spoilers on social media. To avoid the possibility, some fans began reading the Attack on Titan manga, which is similar to a comic book. The manga released its final chapters shortly after the completion of season four part one. As the story began to develop and eventually came to an end, readers were looking forward to the rest of the series being animated. MAPPA, the animation studio of Attack on Titan, also expressed their excitement towards completing the show.

The final part of season four is rumored to have a total of 12 episodes, but it is yet to be confirmed. It is also speculated that there will be an accompanying movie to conclude the series, as it does not seem like the rest of the manga will fit into a span of 12 episodes.

Since the release of the first episode of the final part, fans have continued to share their feelings on the show. A total of five episodes have been released so far, and it has yet to disappoint. Its most recent episode, “From You, 2,000 Years Ago”, which was released on Feb. 6, 2022, revealed information about the backstory of the plot, and shocked many anime-only fans. I have been a fan of Attack on Titan for about two years, and I have grown attached to the storyline. It reveals various symbolism and themes that can relate to real-world issues. Many don’t realize how complex it really is, despite the show being an animated series. The anime has recently reached the number four spot on the list of top TV series in the world, and for good reason. It is a show that gives meaning to fighting, freedom, and what it truly is like to care for someone. The characters vary from villains and heroes, to your morally gray protagonists. It makes you invested, wanting to see what solution this fictional world could possibly come up with. Attack on Titan is coming to an end, but it is a piece of cinematic artwork that will continue to influence viewers across the world.
