The freshman volleyball team defended their undefeated record in conference on Tuesday, Oct. 9; the girls won their match against Valparaiso in two games with scores of 25-16 and 25-15.
“We surprised ourselves with how well we played this match,” Sydney Halfeldt (9) said.
Even when the girls win a game, they still see room for improvement.
“I think out nerves get to us when we play a competitive team like Valpo,” Madeline Hirschfield (9) said.
Going into the game, the girls knew they would have to work hard to win against Valparaiso.
“I think we worked really hard to beat Valpo since we lost a game against them in the LC invite,” Hirschfield said.
The girls are proud of their undefeated conference title and work hard to keep it.
“I’m really proud. We’ve been working hard since June and it’s really good to see all of our hard work pay off,” Halfeldt said.
