A lot of people question what kinesiology is exactly. According to americankinesiology.org, this is the study of physical activity and its impact on health, society, and quality of life.

“The class is all about looking at the medical profession through the eyes of an athletic trainer”, Mr. Jeff Rhody, Science, said.

Mr. Rhody is the only teacher that instructs this specific class. This is his 15th year teaching this program here.

“Rhody is one of the best teachers at Lake Central. He has a really good sense of humor and the way he teaches is interesting,” Ryan Burvan (12) said.

Recently in class, the students have been learning how to carry out a CPR procedure. They also use AED’s and practice on mannequins. One mistake from a student, and the whole class has to start the procedure from the beginning again.

“I loved learning about CPR. It feels good learning how to save someone’s life”, Burvan said.

Kinesiology is a semester class offered to students who have passed biology.
