Meeting on Feb. 5th, Best Buddies held their annual Valentine’s Day celebration. They usually meet once a month and throw a party. Students participate in themed activities that correspond with the holiday they are celebrating.
“It’s cool that at Best Buddies we have a ton of different activities that you can do with your buddy. My buddy and I enjoyed the little crafts for Valentine’s Day, and the temporary tattoos are always a hit,” Elizabeth Birlson (10) said.
Many students have benefited from being a part of Best Buddies. They have met new friends and participated in action-packed meetings. Best buddies has also provided many students a relaxing place to go to after school.
“I really like being a buddy because I get to hang out with all these interesting people. I get to learn more about them and see the world through a different lens. It is a really chill environment, and it is a good thing to do after school. You meet all different kinds of people,” Benjamin Robbins (11) said.
Talking to and meeting a variety of people gives individuals more knowledge they wouldn’t normally know about.
“My buddy always has fun facts for me. He tells me a new thing every meeting. I love being able to learn new things I would have never learned otherwise. I love that he is able to keep me on my toes and tell me niche little facts about things that interest him,” Birlson said.
