With the loss of a key player, Victoria Gard (9), who is out for the season due to a wrist injury, the freshman girls basketball team did not let the setback affect their game against Valparaiso.
“I think we did good. The first quarter was a little rough, but we pulled through. I don’t think Gard being out really affected us, but we could use some extra players,” Zhanae Howard (9) said.
The girls started off the game strong and kept a lead against their opponents during a majority of the game. With the season recently starting, the team has a positive outlook on the rest of their season.
“Our goal is to stay undefeated this season and to get better every single game,” Howard said.
The team has only had four games this year, but they are practicing and working towards a great season.
The team’s next game is Monday, Nov. 26 at home against Crown Point.
