On Feb. 27, 2013, many students gathered in the weight room after school for sports conditioning. A wide variety of different athletes from swimmers to football players lifted weights, ran and utilized the ellipticals.

“I’ve been playing softball since I was 6. I can’t wait for this season to start because I like being a part of a team,” Aspyn Novak (10) said.

For many, the thought of being able to rely on a team is comforting, yet others like all the responsibility on their shoulders.

“I like that in swimming, you rely on yourself. you don’t have to worry about anyone but you and your opponents,” Joshua Barajas (10) said.

Many football players condition all year round for a 10 week season.

“I love football because it tests my endurance. It’s hard work, yet self rewarding, and it helps me stay fit,” Juan Rivera (11) said.
