The girls varsity track team defeated Chesterton and LaPorte at LaPorte on April 30.
Lake Central won 75-57 against Chesterton and 109-23 against LaPorte. This was the girls’ last regular season meet, and now they will compete to defend their DAC title on May 7 at Crown Point.
“This season has been a challenge because we have not been able to practice on our own track. With the limited time we got to run on a track, I think we did a great job keeping the standard of LC girls track,” Kristen Kaiser (10) said.
The girls team has remained undefeated in the regular season for six years.
“With every obstacle that has been thrown at us, we have maintained our traditions really well. Now that we have stayed undefeated, we can focus on doing our best to get our team to state,” Kaiser said.
