On Thursday May 16, Jazz Ensemble I played at Peifer Elementary.
“It was nice how much the little kids enjoyed the music,” Stephanie Pomplin (11) said.
This year is the first time the band has gone to play for the elementary students. The children expressed how much they enjoyed the performance by clapping along to the music, and stomping their feet to the beat.
“Hopefully it inspired them to do something with music in their future,” Pomplin said.
Playing for the elementary students is a tradition that the band would like to expand throughout the upcoming years.
“I’d like to continue with it, and if not at Peifer, definitely one of the other elementary schools,” Mr. Chris Harmon, Arts, said.
