The varsity girls volleyball team played against Munster High School on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. The girls have been preparing for their whole season, but the Munster game was the main thing on their minds.

“I am nervous, but excited because we have a rivalry with Munster,” Megan Malatestinic (12), outside hitter, said.

Munster and Lake Central have had a continuous competition between each sport they play each other in. The outcome was not looking good in the beginning for the Lake Central Indians. The Indians lost the first two games 25-19, and 25-15. Fortunately, the girls had a comeback the next two games with the scores of 25-22 for both games. The last game was an intense game that unfortunately didn’t end as Lake Central would have hoped with Munster winning 15-12.

“We had a late start, but once we started serving more aggressively, we began to look much sharper,” Tina Tinberg, Head Coach, said.

The girls have their next game scheduled on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The game will be against the Crown Point Bulldogs held at Crown Point High School at 6:30 p.m.
