The varsity girls soccer team competed against Portage on Sept. 3 in a home game, pulling away with a 10-0 shutout.

“This is one of the games where I wasn’t focusing on getting as many points as I could,” Brianna Dougherty (11) said, “I was focused on giving points to [my teammates].”

Though the Blue Indians won the game, players feel there are always improvements to be made.

“[I’d critique our] passing and communication in both a positive and negative way,” Dougherty said. “Negative because you have to see what you’re doing wrong in order to correct it, and positive to motivate you to keep going.”

After one minute and 15 seconds, the team scored their first goal. Their collaborated efforts added another win to the season.

“We hope to win sectionals through hard work and team effort.” Lindsay Kusbel (11) said.

Sectionals for soccer are being held Oct. 10 and 12.
