After rain led to the cancellation of the game against Chesterton on Wednesday, Sept. 18, the boys varsity soccer team celebrated senior night and lost to Chesterton 1-0 on Thursday, Sept. 19.

“Coming into this game, I thought we were pretty confident since it was senior night, and we all wanted to play well for the seniors,” Nikola Tepsic (11) said.

The scoreboard remained 0-0 until 59 minutes into the game when Chesterton player John Ward scored the only goal of the game.

“Even though we lost, like coach said, we can pull out a lot of good things out of the way we played because we have definitely improved our playing style over the last seven games up to here,” Tepsic said.

The Indians were originally scheduled to play Munster on Thursday, but due to the rain cancellation, the Chesterton game got moved to Thursday instead. The boys are currently not scheduled to play Munster this season.

“We played our best game of the year even though we didn’t get the outcome we wanted. A lot of good things happened that day. We are missing some key players, so with them back, things will get better,” Geoff Pucci (12) said.
