On Oct. 10, the freshman volleyball team went up against the LaPorte Slicers and won the match 25-22. The girls spiked off the match with a strong lead of 24-7, leaving the Slicers in the dust.

“As a team we played way better than last time considering we lost last time. We really wanted to get revenge and we sure did that,” Olivia Oster (9) said.

Throughout the game, the Lady Indians rallied behind a core skill that led them to the win.

“A highlight [of the game] was probably our defense. We were passing and getting everything up and all the tips,” Kelly Orze (9) said.

Although the team’s setter Jacqueline Hoffman (9) was injured, the team still pulled through.

“Our setter was actually injured so we had to switch defense to a 5-1 instead of a 6-2. They did a really good job though. I thought they were going to get kind of confused a little bit, but they pulled it together,” Coach Lindsay Thompson said.
