On Tuesday, Dec. 3, both the boys and girls swim team got back into the pool for the first varsity meet. Both teams won, girls with a score of 133-50 and boys with a score of 97-89.

“I’m really proud of the team. We won and everyone did really well individually and in their relays. I swam the 200 medley relay, the 100 fly, 200 free relay, and 100 back and won everything I swam, so I was happy,” Marina Vasquez (10) said.

This meet was the first meet of the season for the boys team. they started out the season right with a 97-89 win over Valparaiso.

“We went into the meet [as] underdogs, and it was exciting to win the meet when we were underestimated,” Tyler Hires (11) said.

With the new school, a major change for the swim team will take place: a new pool.

“Since it’s my senior year, I’m really excited to swim in the new pool. I want to make the most out of my last season and the new pool will be a big part of that. We worked really hard with the referendum and promoting it and it’s finally paying off,” Tracilyn Muszalski (12) said.
