The undefeated JV girls basketball team continued their winning streak in their game against East Chicago with a final score of 63-17 on Dec.18.

“I thought we played very well, and it’s unfortunate that our opponent wasn’t as skilled as we were, so that didn’t provide much of a challenge for us. That doesn’t get us ready for the really good teams like we have on Friday night with Crown Point,” Coach Keith Hauber, Business, said.

Tensions got to the East Chicago team when their team members started arguing with one another. However, this attitude did not affect the Lake Central girls as they worked as one and won the game.

“We got them riled up and got in their heads so they started making bad passes and stuff. Then we [felt] better because then we [knew] that they [were] gonna get real sloppy,” Nicole Verdeyen (10) said.

The girls are 7-0 and face their next competitor, Crown Point, at home on Dec. 20.
